Organic Law 3/2007, of March 22, for effective equality between women and men establishes the obligation to implement equality plans in companies with 50 or more workers (Royal Decree-Law 6/2019, of March 1). March, of urgent measures to guarantee equal treatment and opportunities between women and men in employment and occupation, modified article 45.2, going from 250 to 50 workers) and in public administrations.

In addition, it is necessary to take into account, on the one hand, the content of Royal Decree 901/2020, of October 13, which regulates equality plans and their registration, and modifies Royal Decree 713/2010, of May 28, on the registration and deposit of agreements and collective labor agreements, which, among other obligations, determines that the equality plans must include those approved by the remuneration audit; and on the other hand, Royal Decree 902/2020 of October 13, on equal pay between women and men, which regulates the content of said audit.

As stated in its Strategic Plan, CITMAga includes among its values ​​equal opportunities and treatment, regardless of gender, age, social or religious status. For this, diversity will be recognized and equality and female vocations will be promoted, supporting the development of the different capacities, talents and opinions of the people who make up the Centre.

Likewise, in its action plan, “Action 15: Design and implement a research personnel strategy and support the development of professional careers”, includes a total of five measures.

Specifically, measure 3 refers to the design and implementation of a Gender Equality Plan in CITMAga that includes:

  • A diagnosis of the situation of women researchers in the entity.
  • Priority objectives (example ensure gender balance in decision-making).
  • A battery of specific measures to support the choice of a research career among women, facilitate the reconciliation of personal and professional life of research staff, guarantee participation in management bodies, commissions and scientific forums, etc.

On the other hand, as stated in its Statutes, CITMAga is a public entity created through an agreement between the University of Coruña, the University of Santiago de Compostela and the University of Vigo. The three universities currently have their corresponding equality plans implemented and in force. Bearing in mind that in Article 7 "Affiliation" of the Statutes of the entity is indicated that CITMAga is initially attached to the University of Santiago de Compostela, it is worth mentioning the "Strategic Plan for equal opportunities between women and men" of this university, which can be consulted at the following link:
